42-Inch Toshiba REGZA 42HL67U 720p LCD HDTV Latest 2009 Review

I went through a thorough market survey before deciding to buy this Toshiba REGZA 42HL67U 42-Inch 720p LCD HDTV for my bedroom. The 42-inch size of this television set is the apt size to fit my bedroom dimensions. A bigger television set in its place would have definitely looked out of place.

Before purchasing this HDTV I was also confused whether I should go for plasma television or TV sets with LCD screens. Both kinds of television set have been significantly popular in the market and both have had its positive as well as negative features. After judging the products and having a careful study of the available brands I finally went for LCD screen model by deciding to buy the 42-Inch Toshiba REGZA 42HL67U 720p LCD HDTV.

Though the plasma television sets are cheaper and provide good quality picture I opted out from buying it because of several reasons; first being its heavy weight that makes it bulky and uneasy for movement from one place to another. Other shortcomings of the plasma television sets were that it generated greater heat and consumed higher amount of electricity. Burned images with cropped effect are also considered to be major deficiency of the plasma televisions.

On the other hand the LCD television sets have superb picture quality and provides excellent viewing angle, particularly the Toshiba REGZA 42HL67U 42-Inch 720p LCD HDTV. Setting adjustments can be made easily to suit the comfort level and unlike many other HDTV where settings change once you switch off the television, in this TV set settings doesn’t change until you wish to change them.
One of the biggest shortcomings of this television set is that it has 720p instead of 1080p which is mostly available in bigger television sets. This produces lesser resolutions and affects the clarity of pictures; however, if you don’t observe this fact from a close point it won’t be seen. This resolution problem is prevalent in the smaller TVs and so one has to compromise on it.
The manual of the television set is also deficient and I had to learn operating the television set by experimenting with various remote buttons. But, once you learn the remote system it becomes very easy. it is in fact a great television set for smaller rooms.
