As my last TV got 7 years old, I realized that it was time to buy a new one. As technology has advanced a lot during the last 7 years, I carried out an extensive research through the Internet. After reviewing all the features of the TV and reading positive online reviews by users of the product, I decided to order the Sony Bravia XBR KDL-52XBR6 52-Inch LCD HDTV. As we do not have a dish or cable connection but only a small indoor antenna, our TV had to be extensively used for watching DVDs. We were amazed to see the number of new digital channels our new TV received without the need to upgrade the antenna.

The picture quality does not get hampered in the presence of a lot of sunlight. I usually use this set for viewing blue ray discs of my choice and the picture is so clear that I cannot see the pixels even when I come to a shorter distance from the TV. If you do not have a home theatre system, you can alternate between two JBL speakers and the in-built TV speakers. The audio settings of the receiver are very flexible and can anytime be used to add speakers and woofers.
